Rhode Island – Home to the oldest tavern in the United States, hundreds of miles of rocky shoreline, and dozens of quaint seaside colonial towns.
Let’s take a look at some of the fun and affordable things to do in North America’s smallest state.
Newport Cliff Walk

With a combination of panoramic ocean views, rocky shorelines, and century-old mansions, you can’t miss this trail.
Winding its way along the eastern shore of Aquidneck Island, the cliff walk combines the natural beauty of Newport’s shoreline with the architectural history of the city’s Gilded Age.
3.5 miles of coastal beauty, history, and adventure await you on this path!
Catch a Sunset at Point Judith

Point Judith is a village and a small cape on the Western side of Narragansett Bay.
Historically, Point Judith was the site of the last sinking of an Allied ship in the Atlantic Ocean during World War II. Today, it is the perfect spot for beachcombers, photographers, and those chasing a sunset.
Visit Beavertail State Park

Beavertail State Park in Jamestown offers some of the most impressive vistas along the New England coastline.
Visitors can enjoy the pristine landscape from one of the four vehicle-accessible overlooks, or walk along the rocky coastline for an up-close experience.
This state park is also perfect for fishing, picnicking, and science education at the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum.
Mohegan Bluffs @ Block Island

Block Island is just South of mainland Rhode Island. It features 17 miles of righteous beaches, protected by lighthouses and spectacular bluffs, and surrounded by rolling roads and winding paths.
One of my favorite things to see on Block Island is the Mohegan Bluffs. Towering nearly 200 feet over the powerful, crashing shoreline below, the bluffs harbor a secluded place to swim and surf.
Block Island is only accessible via Ferry or by a very small regional airport.
Del’s

Treat yourself to a soft frozen lemonade. A legendary Rhode Island tradition.
In a state known for Rhode Island clam cakes, chowder, steamers, coffee milk and hot wieners, Del’s Soft Frozen Lemonade might just possess the most familiar name.
Rhode Island is bustling with history, adventure, and plenty of things to do. Whether you take to Providence or Narragansett Bay, Newport Harbor or Ninigret Park, there is plenty to discover here for all ages.
